Tenacious Change to Klaus Haus Productions
Tenacious Change, founded by Tom Klaus, has closed but he has recently started a new enterprise named Klaus Haus Productions LLC. Here's what you need to know...
You are receiving this Substack post because you have been on the mailing list of Tenacious Change. Over the past three months Tenacious Change has been closed and I, Tom, have started a new, smaller business called Klaus Haus Productions.
This posting is to let you know what has happened with the change and invite you to remain as a subscriber to these postings on Substack.
Let’s begin with this question…
Why did we close Tenacious Change?
There are a number of reasons, really, but mostly because I no longer felt able to keep up the pace necessary to promote and run a small business successfully and with high quality. I turned 70 years old last April and I had often said that my goal was to work at least until that age. I accomplished that but, frankly, it was touch and go for a while due to some health challenges last Spring that finally pushed me to say it was time to stop.
So, I “mostly” retired on July 1 and in August took the necessary steps to close Tenacious Change.
I have had a long professional career (50+ years) that I’ve enjoyed and yet the 40+ years of travel I’ve had to do for work took a toll on my body. I didn’t travel, of course, during the pandemic but when I did start to travel again, I realized just how hard it had been on me.
Why, then, Klaus Haus Productions?
Four reasons. First, as a result of the pandemic the state of technology changed significantly so that remote work could be done more easily and with higher quality. Second, also because of the pandemic, I had to expand my skill set to include video, audio production, script writing, editing, etc. and I really enjoyed them. Third, while I’m enjoying being retired (more golf, you know), I’m not ready to be fully retired. I still would like to be productive and helpful to people using my old and new skills and abilities. Fourth, and finally, Klaus Haus Productions allows me to work at a more comfortable pace and remotely.
So, what will you be doing with Klaus Haus Productions?
Sharing ideas and telling stories that illustrate many of those ideas.
This will happen in several ways. One is that I’ll continue to write and blog on this Substack as things come to mind for me. I always do my best thinking when I’m in the process of writing and writing has always been a good way for me to refine my thinking. In this way I’ll continue to push out ideas and stories that are important and which I think people need to know about.
A second way is through video production and podcasting. I will continue to co-create and co-produce Getting to 3rd Space with Lamar & Tom. Lamar and I will continue to push the audio podcast out through Spotify into a variety of podcast platforms. I’ll be setting up a new YouTube Channel for Klaus Haus Productions which will feature video versions of our podcast, both past and present. I’ll add other video productions as the opportunity is presented. (It will take a bit of time to migrate the videos I have already on the Tenacious Change YouTube Channel). Also, I’m considering offering a video service that is in the “thinking about it stage” at this point. If it makes it to the planning stage, I’ll tell you more about it then.
Finally, I continue to receive inquiries about the Tenacious Change Approach, Ownership-based Change, and the materials I created for these over the past number of years. These will continue to be available but not quite yet. I’ll be making them available on my new website (klaushausllc.com) over the next few months.
If you’d like to follow along with the development of Klaus Haus Productions, you can remain on this mailing list or bookmark the From Klaus Haus Substack in your browser or even bookmark the new website, klaushausllc.com. Of course, you can do all three.
Be sure to tune into Getting to Third Space with Lamar and Tom, our regular podcast on civil conversation and dialogue. We also took a break from the podcast to get reorganized and complete a move to a new house. However, our podcast returns next week. Remember, you can find it on most major podcast platforms.
Thanks for reading or listening. Let’s stay in touch!
